Inside Sales Representative

Organic Dyes & Pigments LLC (ORCO) is seeking an inside sales professional based at our Lincoln, RI facility.

ORCO is a provider of colorant and specialty chemical solutions to a global audience. Our 75 year history has positioned ORCO as a trusted and valued trade partner to a broad industry base spanning Textile, Construction, Coatings, Agriculture, HI&I, and varied Industrial applications.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience with online prospecting and research. A demonstrated passion for communicating with potential customers through inbound lead follow-up and outbound outreach via email and cold calling.

The candidate is supported by a deep and knowledgeable team of technical, operational, and process experts continually supported by strategic hiring. Working knowledge with CRM applications, in addition to MS Office suite of software is required.

Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills, be results-driven, with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

A four-year college degree in a technical field or other degree field is preferred. Fluency in Spanish is also a plus.

Compensation is based on experience and consists of a combination of base salary and annual incentive bonus. We offer paid time off, 401K plan, medical and dental coverage.

Job Title: Color Chemists/Technical Support Specialists

Employer: Organic Dyes and Pigments LLC

Job Location: 1 Crownmark Drive, Lincoln, RI 02865

Job Responsibilities:           

  • Perform technical projects, lab work requests, and formulation development work;
  • Provide color analysis utilizing color spectrophotometry instrumentation and visual assessment;
  • Implement and expand computerized color library to assist with lab projects;
  • Provide support to sales, marketing, and production to develop and commercialize new products, product cost reductions, improved product quality, and EH&S compliance;
  • Monitor technical and industry publications and maintain active participation in AATCC sub-committee RA36 Color Measurement and Test Methods;
  • Support sales team to help resolve customer technical product and application issues;
  • Work with sales team and engage directly to develop and provide customized solutions for customers;
  • Provide clear communication and cooperation with all other functional areas to help achieve overall business objective; and
  • Be responsible for laboratory compliance with environmental and ISO standards.

Job Requirements:

Employer requires the candidate to have a Master’s degree in Textile Science, Textile Engineering/Technology, Polymer Science, or closely related field.

The Successful Candidate Must Also Have:

  • Demonstrated ability with visual assessment, instrumental color evaluation and calibration gained through at least three years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability working with color measuring instrument (e.g., spectrophotometer) and color matching software (e.g., XRite/Datacolor) gained through at least three years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different dye classes and their applications methods to various substrates including dyeing equipment gained through at least three years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in color science including colorimetry, color spaces, and color difference assessments gained through at least three years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of textile coloration and finishing processes gained through at least three years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated understanding of textile test methods and performance criteria and ability working with the AATCC or related testing methods gained through at least two years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof);
  • Demonstrated understanding of large-scale commercial textile manufacture and the subsequent post-production processes gained through at least two years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof); and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different analytical instruments such as FTIR and UV-Vis gained through at least two years of experience. (Employer is willing to accept experience gained in industry, in connection with graduate degree program, or any combination thereof).

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
