Orconol CHSA Conc™ is a special product developed for use as a detergent for greasy or soiled goods, a retardant in dyeing, an acid fulling agent, emulsifier for oils, fats, and waxes, and a dispersing agent for pigments.

Applications

As a detergent  –  In view of its wetting, scouring, dispersing and emulsifying properties, Orconol CHSA Conc™ is especially suited for the pre-scouring of wool, wool/ Orlon, and wool/Dacron fabrics or yarns where a certain degree of softness is desired. Orconol CHSA Conc™ has the unique property of distributing residual oils more uniformly throughout the materials, aiding to produce more evenly dyed goods. These properties also make Orconol CHSA Conc™ invaluable as an after-scouring agent for wool and synthetic fibers.

Stabilization of finishing formulations  –  Use 0.5-1.0% Orconol CHSA Conc™ on weight of fabric(owf).  Orconol CHSA Conc™ is compatible with anionic and cationic agents and has been used as a stabilizing assistant without interfering with resins, water repellents, and softeners.

Wetting agent and penetrant   –  In bleaching liquors, use 0.05 – 0.1% Orconol CHSA Conc™ owf. Orconol CHSA Conc™ is compatible with hypochlorite and peroxide bleaching liquors, and speeds the bleaching process making possible a use-reduction in bleaching chemicals.

Dyeing of Orlon and Orlon/wool blends  –  Use 0.5 – 1.0% of Orconol CHSA Conc™ owf to reduce interference from any anionic agents which may be left on the fiber from scouring.  With fiber blends, Orconol CHSA Conc™ keeps the cationic dye staining of wool to a minimum and allows better buildup on the Orlon.

Dyeing of Cotton and Rayon  –  Use 0.10 – 0.25% of Orconol CHSA Conc™ owf with the use of direct or vat dyes to promote level dyeing.  Orconol CHSA Conc™ also reduces bronzing in dyeing with sulfur dyes.

Dyeing of Wool   –  Use 0.5 – 1.0% Orconol CHSA Conc™ owf to prevent rapid strike of Acid Milling dyes.  Orconol CHSA Conc™ also promotes level dyeing and imparts some softness to the wool fiber.
