How to Atmospherically Dye Polyester Using Orcocilacron™ Dyes
Atmospheric dyeing of polyester calls for low-to-medium energy Orcocilacron™ disperse dyes with the addition of a carrier to further swell the fiber allowing increased penetration of the dye into the polyester fiber.
- Prepare and pre-scour polyester.
- Enter goods in bath at 120°F(49°C) containing:
- Acetic to a pH of 5.5 – 6.0
- 2.0% owg Anionic Wetting Agent
- 1.0 % owg Orco Polylev B-400™
- 6.0% owg Orco Dye Carrier LLRS-2™ (dye carrier and dye solution should be mixed into bath separately)
- Circulate for 10 minutes and add
- X% owg Orcocilacron™ dyes – use proper disperse dye preparation procedure
- Raise temperature to 205°F(96°C) and run for 50-120 minutes for maximum penetration.
- Cool back to 180°F(82°C) and rinse well at this temperature.
- Cool back to 120°F(49°C) while rinsing.
- After-scour(after-clear) with:
-
- 2 – 4% owg Reducing Agent such as Sodium Hydrosulphite
at a temperature of 140°F(60°C) and run for 15 -20 minutes. - Drop bath and rinse well.
- 2 – 4% owg Reducing Agent such as Sodium Hydrosulphite
