How to Exhaust Dye Wool Using Orco Reactive R & BF-Series™ Reactive Dyes

  1. Prepare and scour wool as necessary.
  1. Circulate goods in the following chemical auxiliary bath at 110°F(43°C):
  • 5.00 % owg   Glauber’s Salt
  • 1.50 % owg   Orco Leveler TRY™
  • 1.50 % owg   Orco Salt O Solution™
  • X %      owg   Glacial Acetic Acid to a pH of  0-4.5
  1. Add Orco Reactive BF or R-Series™ dye properly prepared.
  1. Raise temperature slowly to 160°F(71°C).
  1. Hold temperature for 15-20 minutes
  1. Raise temperature slowly to 210°F(99°C) at the rate of 2-3°F per minute.
  1. Hold temperature for 30-90 minutes. Longer dyeing times will promote increased fixation.
  1. Cool back to 160-170°F(71-77°C).
  2. Add 1-2 % owg Ammonia to a pH of 7.5-8.0 and run for 10-15 minute at 160-170°F(71-77°C). Overflow rinse, drop bath, and acidify in last rinse to a pH of 5.0-5.5.
