How to Post Heat-Set Polyester

Post Heat-Setting of polyester after dyeing is common in order to attain dimensional stability of the fabric.  It is important to select the proper dyes having good sublimation properties as the heat-setting could alter the final shade if dye sublimation occurs.

For maximum dimensional stability, a heat-setting temperature of 350-420°F(177-215°C) is required.

It is recommended that the manufacturer of the fiber be contacted for detailed heat-setting procedures.
