The following is a general guideline on how to dye polyester/acrylic blends in a one-bath/two-step procedure using Orcocilacron™ disperse dyes and Orcozine™ basic dyes.

 

1. Prepare goods as necessary.
2. In a bath at 120°F(49°C) add:
   • X %   owg    Orcocilacron™ Disperse dyes properly prepared.
   • 5-10 % owg Orco Dye Carrier BD™ (depending on depth of shade)
3. Bring bath to 170°F(77°C) over 15 minutes and add:
   • 0 % owg                 Orconol CHSA Conc™
   • 25-0.50 % owg      Sodium Acetate
   • 0-6.0 % owg          Orcozine Retarder P™  *

4. Adjust pH to 4-4.5 using acetic acid and run for 5 minutes.
5. Add Orcozine™ dye solution, properly prepared and run for 10 minutes.
6. Bring to the boil over 45 minutes and run for 1-2 hours.
7. In a fresh scouring bath, add:
   • 1.0 % owg     Orconol CHSA Conc™
   • 0.5 % owg     Acetic Acid 5%
8. Run for 20 minutes at 180°F(83°C).
9. Cool back slowly and rinse.
