How to Dye Polyester/Acrylic Blends with Orcocilacron™ and Orcozine™ Dyes using a One-Bath/Two-Step Process
The following is a general guideline on how to dye polyester/acrylic blends in a one-bath/two-step procedure using Orcocilacron™ disperse dyes and Orcozine™ basic dyes.
- Prepare goods as necessary.
- In a bath at 120°F(49°C) add:
- X % owg Orcocilacron™ Disperse dyes properly prepared.
- 5-10 % owg Orco Dye Carrier BD™ (depending on depth of shade)
- Bring bath to 170°F(77°C) over 15 minutes and add:
- 0 % owg Orconol CHSA Conc™
- 25-0.50 % owg Sodium Acetate
- 0-6.0 % owg Orcozine Retarder P™ *
*Orcozine™ Dye Strength(% owg) Amount of Retarder P™ (% owg)
0.1 6.0
0.1-1.0 4.0
1.0-3.0 2.0
3.0-6.0 1.0
- Adjust pH to 4-4.5 using acetic acid and run for 5 minutes.
- Add Orcozine™ dye solution, properly prepared and run for 10 minutes.
- Bring to the boil over 45 minutes and run for 1-2 hours.
- In a fresh scouring bath, add:
- 1.0 % owg Orconol CHSA Conc™
- 0.5 % owg Acetic Acid 5%
- Run for 20 minutes at 180°F(83°C).
- Cool back slowly and rinse.
