Orco Synthrowite CAB-2™ is an economical brilliant white, slightly blue cast, fluorescent optical whitener recommended for application on all types of acrylic and modacrylic fibers. Orco Synthrowite CAB-2™ is recommended for brightening of acrylics whether alone or in conjunction with sodium chlorite.

Application

Exhaust – Regular white

Set bath cold and add:

• Orconol CHSA Conc™                          1.00% on weight of fabric (owf)
• Ferrous Sulfate                                        0.50% owf
• Orco Synthrowite CAB-2™                   0.50-6.00% owf
• Acetic Acid 56% pH of 4.0-5.0

Circulate bath for 5 minutes, raise temperature 1.5–2.0°F/minute to 170°F and hold for 5-10 minutes.

Raise temperature to 212°F for acrylic; lower for modacrylic.

Hold for 60 minutes, cool rinse, drain, and soften as desired.

Exhaust – One Bath Bleach and Brighten

Set bath cold and add:

• Orconol CHSA Conc™                       1.00% owf
• Sodium Chlorite                                    3.00% owf
• Sodium Nitrate                                      3.00% owf
• Oxalic Acid                                            2.00% owf
• Orco Synthrowite CAB-2™                0.50 – 6.00% owf

Run 5–10 minutes and raise temperature 212°F for acrylic and lower temperatures for modacrylics and hold for 60 minutes.

Cool rinse and drain.

Antichlor with 2.00% Sodium Bisulfite on weight of goods.

Raise temperature to 140°F, hold for 20 minutes, cool rinse well, and drain.
