How to Dye Polyester/Acrylic Blends with Orcocilacron™ and Orcozine™ Dyes using a One-Bath/Two-Step Process

The following is a general guideline on how to dye polyester/acrylic blends in a one-bath/two-step procedure using Orcocilacron™ disperse dyes and Orcozine™ basic dyes.

 

  1. Prepare goods as necessary.
  2. In a bath at 120°F(49°C) add:
    • X %   owg    Orcocilacron™ Disperse dyes properly prepared.
    • 5-10 % owg Orco Dye Carrier BD™ (depending on depth of shade)
  3. Bring bath to 170°F(77°C) over 15 minutes and add:

 

*Orcozine™  Dye Strength(% owg)        Amount of Retarder P™ (% owg)

 

0.1                                                                  6.0

0.1-1.0                                                          4.0

1.0-3.0                                                          2.0

3.0-6.0                                                          1.0

 

  1. Adjust pH to 4-4.5 using acetic acid and run for 5 minutes.
  2. Add Orcozine™ dye solution, properly prepared and run for 10 minutes.
  3. Bring to the boil over 45 minutes and run for 1-2 hours.
  4. In a fresh scouring bath, add:
  5. Run for 20 minutes at 180°F(83°C).
  6. Cool back slowly and rinse.
